NSP offers a wide range of programs designed to improve
patrolling leadership and instructor skills. An extensive and dedicated
volunteer network delivers these programs locally.

Through NSP's award-winning Outdoor Emergency Care
program, local patrols and other affiliates receive quality instruction on
pre-hospital injury assessment and treatment. NSP also develops training for
non-medical roles, including toboggan handling, avalanche rescue, mountain host
programs, and more.

In addition, NSP makes available a wide range of
resources, including manuals, videos, and other materials to support NSP
education programs. NSP also maintains a lending library of videos and other
materials to support area managers and trainers.

NSP credentials assure area management and the public
that the patroller is a knowledgeable and capable professional.

NSP develops and maintains patrol credential programs.
This allows patrollers to train and be evaluated in patrolling competencies.

A strong NSP presence reinforces the public's
perception that trained patrollers mean increased safety on the slopes.

NSP keeps current on national trends in snow sports
participation and responds to them through regularly updating curriculum and
core competencies.

NSP partners with other snow sports industry
associations and corporate partners to promote snow sports safety to the
public. NSP enjoys strong ties to the American Association of Snowboard
Instructors (AASI),
Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA), National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), and
with Snowsports Industries of America (SIA).

NSP's Outdoor Emergency Care training is the premier
outdoor safety education program recognized and utilized by allied
organizations such as these:

Federal land managers including the United States
Forest Service and National Park Service;

Outdoor recreation organizations such as International
Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) and river guide associations in states that
include: California, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Utah, West Virginia;
o
Emergency Services groups like Mountain Rescue
Association, Basic Trauma Life Support International and Southwest Rescue Dogs,
Inc.;
o
Wilderness medical education groups including
Guideworks, Inc., Wilderness Medical Associates and Wilderness Medicine
Outfitters;

Dozens of colleges and university outdoor education
departments such as Colorado Mountain College, Michigan Technological
University, University of Alaska and University of California at Los Angeles.
